PEASANT GM NOTE: Guide the PC(s) to the Umbrella Shop
Well you all don’t look like you’re here for our party.
Come in, come in! Enjoy a drink. This is a momen-
tous occasion for our town. Our city has been chosen
to be on the emperor’s route for the transport of the
Todaijiyama Sword!
GM NOTE: The PC(s) should enquire about the
whereabouts of Rinkashime Kumoshitsu.
PEASANT
Rinka—? Oh... Yes! Rin-ka-shi-me… Ku-mo-shi-
tsu! The guy that announced the news of the sword!
He’s over… THERE!.. I think? Yep… that’s him!
Go talk to him. But first, have yourself a drink will
ya? Loosen up!
In the middle of the crowd is seated a proud man
enjoying the fame his announcement has brought the
party. He is surrounded by several people all singing
and swaying their drinks to the rhythm of a popular
drinking song. The song ends with an explosive
cheer, followed by drinking, and shortly a disbursing
of the crowd around Rinkashime Kumoshitsu. The
man of interest is finishing his drink, and slams down
his cup. He looks a the PC(s).
RINKASHIME KUMOSHITSU
What do you want? You’re obviously not from
around here. You look like you’re looking for some-
one, and you’re passing on the faces of everyone in
here except mine. So you obviously want something.
GM NOTE: The PC(s) should explain what they are
wanting.
RINKASHIME KUMOSHITSU
Ha, Ha, Ha! I knew it! We’ll here’s the thing. My
wife is on here way, and expecting a gift. Problem is
I don’t have the gift I promised, so now I have to hur-
ry up and get it and get back in time to meet her.
Translation: I don’t have time to talk. Unless…
Yeah… if you guys can go get the gift for me, I can
meet her here. Then, when you come in I can give
her the gift, then excuse myself while she admires it
and give you anything you want. What do you say?
GM NOTE: Should the PC(s) agree Rinkashime Ku-
moshitsu will give them 50 Hansatsu.
RINKASHIME KUMOSHITSU
Great! So, go to the Umbrella Shop and ask them to
give you “Rinkashime Kumoshitsu’s umbrella”. Af-
ter that, come back here and we’ll exchange. Now
hurry, my wife will be on her way shortly.

When the PC(S) return to the tavern, they will see
Rinkashime Kumoshitsu seated across from a beauti-
ful woman. Her back is to them but Rinkashime Ku-
moshitsu will notice them, and give them a look that
makes them stay where they are. He talks to his wife
for a few more seconds then get up from his chair
and step behind the woman producing a blindfold
which he gently applies. Quickly he rushes to the PC
(s) leaving his wife giggling.
RINKASHIME KUMOSHITSU
Did you get it?! Ahh, excellent! Thank you so
much! I don’t know what I would’ve done! Can you
beleive that as soon as you left, she walked in?
Okay, give me a few minutes, and I’ll come back to
talk to you. She’s going to be so excited.
Rinkashime Kumoshitsu rushes back to his wife,
placing the umbrella in her lap and removing her
blindfold. He proudly stands over her as she lets out
an appreciative squeal of delight and snatches her
husband into a tight embrace around his waist. She
releases him and he gives her a kiss, then politely
taps her on the shoulder and leaves her to examine
her new precious item.
Rinkashime Kumoshitsu returns to the presence
of the PC(s) proudly. He bows respectfully.
RINKASHIME KUMOSHITSU
Thank you 1,000 times friends! My wife is very hap-
py. Because this is so important to me, ’ll tell you all
that I know.
GM NOTE: Rinkashime Kumoshitsu will divulge the
information about the Todaijiyama Sword.
PART 5c. “Mirishi Futakume”
Location: Otsu, Shiga; Lake; A6
The group has made their way to the Geisha
House. It is a popular place in the city; even at this
time of day. When they go inside the lounge area,
they are met by the head Geisha. Before they can
speak, they notice a seated man wearing vibrant
white Kimono adorned with golden embroidery. He
drinks from a cup and seems as though he has some-
thing heavy on his mind. He looks to the PC(s), then
away and exhales a heavy sigh.
