D- Conidiospores
Spores arranged in chains at the end of a conidiophore such as
Penicillium
E- Blastospores
Spores formed from buds of the parent cell such spores found in
yeasts
2- Sexual Spores
• Among fungi, sexual spore results from sexual reproduction of three phases:
(1) A haploid nucleus of a donor cell (+) penetrates the
cytoplasm of a recipient cell (-).
(2) The (+) & (-) nuclei fuse to form a diploid, zygote nucleus.
(3) By meiosis, the diploid nucleus gives rise to haploid nuclei
(sexual spores).
◼ The union of the cytoplasm of two parent mycelia is known
as plasmogamy .
◼ The union of two haploid nuclei contributed by two parents is known as
karyogamy.
