3- Cell wall

• The major constituents of the fungal cell wall are chitin, glucans &glycoproteins

• Chitin is a structurally important component of the fungal cell wall located closest to

the plasma membrane.

4- Cell membrane

Fungi have a unique sterol, ergosterol, which replaces cholesterol found in

mammalian cell membranes.

4- Reproduction

• Reproduce by means of spores.

• Both sexual and asexual spores may be produced depending on species

and condition.
