2. Value of Knowledge Possessed

                             • Review your knowledge about each topic on the list. Do you have enough
                                 basic knowledge to start research?

                             • Choose a topic in which you feel knowledgeable enough so that you are not

starting from scratch. This will make it easier for you to develop a strong
                                 argument.

                      3. Consider Resource Availability

                             • Do an initial search to ensure there are enough credible and relevant
                                 resources on the topic.

                             • Choose a topic that has a lot of accessible data, research, articles, or books
                                 to support your argument.

                      4. Relevance and Impact

                             • Choose topics that are relevant to current issues and have a real impact on
people's lives. This will make your text more interesting to readers.

                             • Also consider the social, economic, and political impacts of the topic.
                      5. Test the Topic with Critical Questions

                              • Does this topic have two strong sides to the argument? You have to be able

to see both sides of the argument.
                              • Can this topic be debated ethically and logically?

                              • Does this topic have room for in-depth analysis and critical discussion?

                      6. Consultation with External Sources
                             • Discuss topics with friends, family, or mentors to gain additional perspective.

                             • Read texts or articles related to the topic to see how the argument is

                                 presented.
                      7. Try writing an initial thesis statement

                              • Create an initial thesis statement for each topic you are considering. This

will help you see if you can put together a clear and focused argument.
                              • Choose a topic that allows you to craft a strong thesis statement and support

                                 a logical argument.

               Application Example:

If you are interested in the topic "Use of Technology in Education" and you have basic

knowledge of technology and education, you can:
