UCSD ranks 5 among public schools for NIH funding nationally.
There are several research mentors who can guide you through a
research project in your area of interest and in any specialty. In
addition, we have a research didactic series that covers the basics
of the research process and how to best present and write up
your research for publication. Med/Peds residents are given up to
one to two months of protected time in research (in place of two
away electives). You can have up to three protected days to
present your research if a poster is accepted. In addition, all
residents doing research present their work in the Spring at our
Resident Research Symposium.
