Pleasant Words from the Gospel
Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they
dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight...
(Acts, 27:29)
... [Paul] went in to see him and, after prayer... (Acts, 28:8)
"We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of
God [paradise]," they said Paul and Barnabas appointed elders
for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, commit-
ted them to the Lord, in Whom they had put their trust. (Acts,
14:23)
I urge you, brothers... to join me in my struggle by praying to
God for me. Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in
Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to
the saints there. (Romans, 15:30-31)
Do not deprive each other [do not leave one another] except
by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote
yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that satan
will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. (1
Corinthians, 7:5)
So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also
pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also
sing with my mind. (1 Corinthians, 14:15)
He [God] has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He
will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will con-
tinue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many
will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us
in answer to the prayers of many. (2 Corinthians, 1:10-11)
And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, be-
