Pleasant Words from the Gospel
and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain,
and the earth produced its crops. (James, 5:16-18)
The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and
self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each oth-
er deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer
hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should
use whatever gift [spiritual beauty] he has received to serve
others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various
forms. (1 Peter, 4:7-10)
If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to
death, he should pray to God. (1 John, 5:16)
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that
all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along
well. It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell
about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to
walk in the truth. (3 John, 1:2-4)
But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy
faith and pray... Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for
the mercy... Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from
the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with
fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
(Jude, 1:20-23)
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we
ask anything according to His will, He hears us [God answers
our prayers]. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we
ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him. (1 John,
5:14-15)
