Pleasant Words from the Gospel
... For this world in its present form is passing away. (1
Corinthians, 7:31)
People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in
marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood
came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of
Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling,
planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and
sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
(Luke, 17:27-29)
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be
arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain,
but to put their hope in God, Who richly provides us with
everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to
be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm
foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of
the life that is truly life. (1 Timothy, 6:17-19)
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen [wordly gain], but on
what is unseen [rewards of the hereafter]. For what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal hereafter. (2
Corinthians, 4:18)
What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on...
those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep... For
this world in its present form is passing away... (1 Corinthi-
ans, 7:29-31)
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted
with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also
be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy
