derstanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God...
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowl-
edge. (Colossians, 2:2-3)
So Jesus called them [teachers of religious law] and spoke to
them in parables: "... If a country is divided against itself, that
country cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that
house cannot stand... In fact, no one can enter a strong man's
house and carry off his possessions ..." (Mark, 3:23-27)
Now Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, but they were
not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told
him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting
to see you." He replied, "My mother and brothers are those
who hear God's word and put it into practice." (Luke, 8:19-21)
"Do not stop him," Jesus said, "for whoever is not against you
is for you." (Luke, 9:50)
... And we ought to lay down our lives [for God's good plea-
sure] for our brothers. (1 John, 3:16)
Entrusting to Reliable Men
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted
with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will al-
so be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustwor-
thy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true
riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone
else's property, who will give you property of your own?
