Pleasant Words from the Gospel

Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, sen-
sible, just, devout, self-controlled. (Titus, 1:8)

You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, justly and
blameless we were among you who believed. (1 Thessalonians,
                   2:10)

My brothers... don't show favoritism. Suppose a man comes
into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a
poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special
attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a
good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there"
or "Sit on the floor by my feet," have you not discriminated
among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

                   (James, 2:1-4)

... You rule with a scepter of justice. You have loved right-
eousness and hated wickedness... (Hebrews, 1:8-9)

"Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in
whom I delight... and he will proclaim justice to the nations...
A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will
not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory... (Matthew, 12:18-
                   20)

He [Moses] saw one of them being mistreated... so he went to

his defense... The next day Moses came upon two Israelites
who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying, 'Men,
you are brothers; Why do you wrong each other?'' (Acts, 7:24-
                   26)

[Jesus:] "You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on
