Pleasant Words from the Gospel

He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and
pursue it. For the Eyes of the Lord [the Help of God] are on the
righteous and His Ears are attentive to their prayer [God ac-

cepts the prayers of the righteous ones], but the... Lord is
against those who do evil." (1 Peter, 3:11-12)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not eas-
ily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not de-
light in evil but rejoices with the truth. Always protects, always
trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians, 13:4-7)

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come
from your desires that battle within you? You want something

but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what
you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you
do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because
you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you
get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don't you know
that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone
who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of
                   God. (James, 4:1-4)

                                    Doing Good Deeds

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with

such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews, 13:16)

And we urge you, brothers... Make sure that nobody pays back
wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and
to everyone else. (1 Thessalonians, 5:14-15)
