Each of us should please his neighbor [for God's good plea-
sure] for his good, to build him up. (Romans, 15:2)

We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we
bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it. (1 Corinthians,
                  4:12)

He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and
                  pursue it. (1 Peter, 3:11)

Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But
even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.
"Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened."... Always
be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to
give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with

gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience... (1 Peter,
                  3:13-16)

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should
learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring
for their own family and so repaying their parents and
grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. (1 Timothy, 5:4)

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be
arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncer-
tain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with

everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to
be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to
share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as
a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take
hold of the life that is truly life. (1 Timothy, 6:17-19)
