Pleasant Words from the Gospel

For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteous-
ness and truth and find out what pleases the Lord. Have noth-
ing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose

them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient
                   do in secret. (Ephesians, 5:9-12)

I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take
your place in helping me while I am in chains for the Gospel.
But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that
any favor you do will be spontaneous and not forced. (Phile-
                   mon, 1:13-14)

Like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master.
You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give

way to fear. (1 Peter, 3:6)

So then, those who suffer according to God's Will should com-
mit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do
                   good. (1 Peter, 4:19)

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God
may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power
He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act
prompted by your faith. (2 Thessalonians, 1:11)

Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every

                   way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;
in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless
nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and
kindness... and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the
power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand
and in the left... (2 Corinthians, 6:4-8)
