Pleasant Words from the Gospel
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many
witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified
to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier
[disciple, follower] of Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy, 2:2-3)
Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to
pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and
then turn and tear you to pieces. (Matthew, 7:6)
Ruling Justly
Woe to you...! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and
cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters
of the law [God's commandments]—justice, mercy and faith-
fulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglect-
ing the former. (Matthew, 23:23; Luke 11:42)
Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judg-
ment. (John, 7:24)
Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair...
(Colossians, 4:1)
