whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you
the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline
at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for
those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he
comes in the second or third watch of the night. But under-
stand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour
the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be bro-
ken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man [Je-
sus] will come at an hour when you do not expect him." (Luke,
12:35-40; Matthew 24:42-51; Mark 13:34-36)
To Be Rightheous and Truthful
They came to him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man
of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no
attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in ac-
cordance with the truth... (Mark, 12:14; Matthew 22:16; Luke,
20:21-22)
[Jesus:] Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be
trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little
will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been
trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you
with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with
someone else's property, who will give you property of your
own? (Luke, 16:10-12)
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In
your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of
speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose
