But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They
are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and
destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish. (2 Peter, 2:12)

Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not under-
stand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unrea-
soning animals—these are the very things that destroy them. (Jude,
1:10)

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his
good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
(James, 3:13)

So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would
not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order
to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who
are known to be full of... wisdom. We will turn this re-
sponsibility over to them and will give our attention
to prayer and the ministry of the word." (Acts, 6:2-
