Pleasant Words from the Gospel

Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of
God [the life in the hereafter] is near you.' (Luke, 10:9)

And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our mes-
sage, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ [the
revelation descended upon Jesus]. (Colossians, 4:3)

So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have
fully proclaimed the Gospel of Christ. (Romans, 15:19)

Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what
good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or
knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? Even in the
case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or
harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played un-
less there is a distinction in the notes? Again, if the trumpet
does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? So

it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with
your tongue, how will anyone know what you are say-
                   ing?... (1 Corinthians, 14:6-9)

... Preach the Word [of God]; be prepared in season and out
of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great pa-
tience and careful instruction. For the time will come when
men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit
their own desires, they will gather around them a great num-
ber of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside
to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure
hardship. Do the work of a missionary. Devote yourself
completely to your work. (2 Timothy, 4:1-5)
