Pleasant Words from the Gospel

Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his rela-
tives and in his own house is a prophet without honor."
(Mark, 6:4)

... For they do not know the One [God] Who sent me. [God is
beyond that.] (John, 15:21)

When God raised up His servant [Jesus], He sent him
first to you to bless you by turning each of you
from your wicked ways. (Acts, 3:26)

... But he said to them, "I have food to eat
that you know nothing about." Then his
disciples said to each other, "Could
someone have brought him food?" "My

food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of
Him [God] Who sent me and to finish His
work." (John, 4:31-34)

They were all filled with awe and
praised God. "A great prophet has ap-
peared among us," they said. This news
about Jesus spread throughout Judea and
the surrounding country. (Luke, 7:16-17)
