money. He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Je-
sus over to them when no crowd was present. (Luke, 22:3-6)
Then Jesus replied, "Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one
of you is a devil!" He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who,
though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him. (John, 6:70-71)
They are Full of Hatred toward Believers
All the people... were furious when they heard this. They got up,
drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on
which the town was built, in order to throw him down the cliff.
But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.

The... teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus,
so they watched him closely... But Jesus knew what they were
thinking... But they were furious and began to discuss with one
another what they might do to Jesus. (Luke, 6:7-11)
