They Collaborate against and
Betray Believers

... He [Jesus] said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray
me—one who is eating with me."... "It is one of the Twelve," he
replied, "one who dips bread into the bowl with me." (Mark,

14:18-20)

Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went
to the chief priests and asked, "What are you willing to give
me if I hand him [Jesus] over to you?" So they counted out for

him thirty silver coins. From then on Judas watched for an op-
portunity to hand him over... (Matthew, 26:14-16; Mark 14:10-
11)

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived.
With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent

from the chief priests and the elders of the people. Now the be-
trayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the

man; arrest him." Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greet-
ings, Rabbi!" and kissed him... (Matthew, 26:47-49; Mark 14:43-
45)

Then satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the
Twelve. And Judas went... discussed with them how he might

betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him
