The Miracles of our Prophet (saas)





                 Companions were boy cott ed for a long time by the com mu ni -
                 ties in which they lived. But all of these ap par ent ad ver si ties
                 en a bled them to at tain a good life in both worlds. Those whose
                 faith is sin cere and who trust in the Lord are nev er daunt ed by
                 such ad ver si ties; on the con tra ry, they see these dif fi cul ties as a
                 way to draw close to Allah and to win His fa vor.
                     Before he be gan to pro claim Islam, our Prophet (saas) was

                 called al-Amin (the Trustworthy), be cause his peo ple en trust ed
                 their pos ses sions to him and of ten chose him to set tle their dis -
                 putes. They al ways praised his good ness and jus tice. Since he
                 was wise, for ward-think ing, in sight ful, and al ways me tic u lous
                 in ev ery thing he did, ev ery one who saw him was im me di ate ly
                 aware of his spe cial qual i ties. But when he be gan to call them
                 to Islam and to re nounce their idols, they nev er the less tar get ed

                 him. As Allah relates in the Qur'an, this hap pened to the ear li -
                 er mes sen gers as well:
                     They said: "O Salih, we had great hopes in you be fore this
                     hap pened. Do you for bid us to wor ship what our fa thers
                     wor shipped? We have grave doubts about what you are
                     call ing us to." (Surah Hud: 62)
                     They said: "O Shu'ayb, do your prayers in struct you that we
                     should aban don what our fa thers wor shipped or stop do ing
                     what ev er we want to with our wealth? You are clear ly the
                     for bear ing, the right ly-guid ed!' (Surah Hud: 87)

                     He asked: "What was this past af fair of yours when you so -
                     lic it ed Yusuf?" Then they ex claimed: "Allah for bid! We
                     know no bad of him." The gov ern or's wife then said: "The
                     truth has now emerged. Indeed I tried to se duce him then,
                     and he has sim ply told the hon est truth. (Surah Yusuf: 51)
