Ha run Yah ya (Ad nan Ok tar)
in it. The stars of heav en and their con -
stel la tions will not show their light. The ris -
ing Sun will be dark en ed and the Moon will not give
its light. I will pun ish the world for its evil, the wick ed for
their sins. I will put an end to the ar ro gance of the haugh ty
and will hum ble the pride of the ruth less. (Isaiah, 13:6-11)
"Surely the day is com ing; it will burn like a fur nace. All the
ar ro gant and ev ery evil do er will be stub ble, and that day that
is com ing will set them on fire," says the Lord Almighty. "Not
a root or a branch will be left to them." (Malachi, 4:1)
Men will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the
ground from dread of the Lord and the splen dor of His maj -
es ty, when He ris es to shake the earth. (Isaiah, 2:19)
... That day will be dark ness, not light. It will be as though a
man fled from a li on on ly to meet a bear, as though he en tered
his house and rest ed his hand on the wall on ly to have a snake
bite him. Will not the day of the Lord be dark ness, not light—
pitch-dark, with out a ray of bright ness? (Amos, 5:18-20)
Every val ley shall be raised up, ev ery moun tain and hill made
low; the rough ground shall be come lev el, the rug ged pla ces
a plain. And the glo ry of the Lord will be re vealed, and all hu -
man i ty to geth er will see it. For the mouth of the Lord has spo -
ken." (Isaiah, 40:4-5)
He lifts up a ban ner for the dis tant na tions, He whis tles for those
at the ends of the earth. Here they come, swift ly and speed i ly...
If one looks at the land, he will see dark ness and dis tress; even
the light will be dark en ed by the clouds. (Isaiah, 5:26, 30)
