that the universe will be destroyed. Newspapers, magazines,
television programs, and other media outlets often inform
people of the latest scientific discoveries. Researchers who are
aware of these facts are looking for ways in their own minds to
prevent such calamities in order to delay the universe's death.
Another area of research focuses on the probable changes that
would take place on Earth and its effects on life were such a
disaster to strike. The resulting data bears a striking
resemblance to many of the events foretold in the Qur'an.
