3.20.2. Maintain good moral character;
3.20.3. Have no violation of the Student Manual as determined by the Student Scholarship
Section;
3.20.4. No infraction or breach of any of the terms and conditions set by the donor and/or IFSU
as contained in the scholarship agreement;
3.20.5. Be of good health, physically, mentally and emotionally;
3.20.6. Carry the required regular academic load for each semester/term depending on the
curriculum of the course he/she is pursuing and thus, cannot drop any of his/her
subjects without prior approval of his/her adviser in consultation with the Student
Scholarship Section; and
3.20.7. Subject to the conditions set by the grantor (where applicable) take leave of absence
only with the prior approval of the Student Scholarship Section.
3.21. Other Requirements. Hereunder are the policies relative to government scholarship.
3.21.1. Execution of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to set forth the details of
scholarship between IFSU and the donor/grantor, and the grantee/scholar and the
grantor/donor.
3.21.2. Determine if the study grant may be permitted by the Scholarship Section with the
concurrence of the donor/grantor in case of illness that causes substantial
interruption of the scholar’s classes. This must be supported by a medical certificate
duly issued by a government physician.
3.21.3. With the concurrence of the donor/grantor, another student may be selected to replace
any scholar who fails: Provided however, that in the absence of another screening ,
he/she is next in rank among the grantees conducted by the screening done by the
Student Scholarship Section; Provided further that in case no student can duly
qualify, a student in the year level of the scholar who failed, may be selected
pursuant to the same screening procedures; and
3.21.4. The Student Scholarship Section, subject to other pertinent policies of the University,
contracts and other similar documents shall appropriately act upon all other matters
not covered by the guidelines.
3.22. General Provisions on Scholarship and Financial assistance
Notwithstanding all the foregoing provisions, scholarships/assistantships enjoyed by the
students of the University shall be governed by the following rules:
3.22.1. A scholarship shall be awarded or terminated upon certification by the Student
Scholarship Section.
3.22.2. A scholarship certification must be obtained from the Student Scholarship Section then
submits to the Finance Section of the University to certify that the student qualifies
with the guidelines of the scholarship provider.
3.22.3. A student shall be allowed to enjoy the benefits of two (2) scholarships or assistantships
at a time, with either a combination of the two of the following: one (1) government
sponsored scholarship and one, one private scholarship and/or (1) IFSU sponsored
scholarship/financial assistance/earned scholarship.
3.22.4. Earned scholarships include Athletic, Academic, Service Scholars, Cultural shall be
enjoyed by the student recipient on top of other scholarships availed by the same
recipient.
