The second type is where the exposed cord of the knot body is tied into another knot
to produce a stereoscopic effect. Structurally, the button knot and pan chang knot are
highly suitable for making into tall three-dimensional knots.

The third type is when the starting point of the knot is changed, for example, using
the center of the pan chang knot body as the starting point.

8. Recombining Skills

Two or more variation skills can be used to tie a new knot. For example, shifting the
weave of the knot body combined with altering the knotting sequence of the outer
loops can be applied to a shiftweave pan chang knot with both overlapped and com-
pound outer loops. Or altering the knotting sequence of the ear loops can be com-
bined with the pan chang good luck knotting technique to produce a pan chang good
luck knot with overlapped and compound outer loops.
