The second involves the use of multiple outer loops. During the knotting process,
once the cord end leaves a knot body, it can be pulled, wrapped, overlapped or hooked
up with one or more completed outer loops.

outer loops.
Combination cloverleaf knot and pan chang knot. Hooking up the outer loops of a cloverleaf knot
and a pan chang knot.
A third technique involves sharing outer loops. Sometimes, when a few knots are
linked together, an outer loop may be shared by two or more knots to form a bigger
modified knot.
Cloverleaf knot with four outer loops. Sharing outer loops within a cloverleaf knot. Knot formation made using the technique of
sharing outer loops.
The fourth technique is cutting the outer loops of a knot. As it is a cord end that
produces a knot, the more cord ends, the bigger the potential for knotting variations.
In this technique, some very long outer loops are tied, then cut in the middle (or any
part thereof) to make more cord ends for tying more variations.
