Early Career Teachers and Initial Teacher
Training
Banbury Aspirations Campus is a great place to complete your training. We have
long-established links with Initial Teacher Training providers and a strong team
in place to support the induction of Early Career Teachers.
Jenny Irvine is responsible for ECTs and ITT provision and works with Corinna
Randall (ECTs and Apprentices) and Lucy Sterland (Interns). Please speak to
any of us if you have questions or concerns.
All ECTs and ITT staff have a PDP (Professional Development Programme)
session on Wednesdays after school, beginning at 3.30, run by Corinna and Lucy
respectively and supported by other members of the Banbury Aspirations
Campus staff team.
ECTs
You will have a reduced timetable and dedicated time on your timetable as is a
statutory right (2 periods in year 1 and 1 period in year 2). This time will allow
you to complete such activities as peer observations, student trails, planning
and feedback and admin relating to your induction. You will have a mentor and
will meet weekly with them to complete your induction programme. Our
Appropriate Body is the Oxfordshire Teaching School Hub (OTSH) and we will
complete the statutory training on the Early Career Framework (ECF) through
them in association with UCL. A login for this and further details will be given
once you join the school.
