               In  this  type,  a very  weak  acid  or  base  is  displaced  from  its  salt  by

          a strong  acid  or  base.  Typical  examples  include  the  titration  of


          sod. carbonate or sod. borate (borax) against standard HCl.



          Example:       Na 2CO 3 + 2 HCl  2 NaCl + H 2O + CO 2
                   HCl (strong acid) displaces carbonic acid (very weak acid) in its salt
