Praying for an entire nation is hard - there are a wealth of things that you could focus on, but the complexity and diversity of a nation state seems over- whelming.
Yet Abram seemed to be very happy to set off from his home, taking everything with him, but leaving his heritage and culture behind to set off on a mission to create a new nation. He did this because God told him to go. Which makes you think...
How certain was he that it was God he could hear?
He was definitely faithful, and was keen to do what God wanted - but even so, the certainty with which he set out was mind-boggling really, as he couldn’t KNOW that it was God’s voice. The Old Testament book of Genesis was written after the event - when it was clear that Abram had been absolutely right
