Technical Evidence
Movement
Evidence based around:
• The renaissance of highways, with battery electric vehicles
• A charging super-hub on-site, close to the A52 and M1 J25, with subsidised charging for settlement residents and business. Addresses the upgrading of charging infrastructure in the existing settlements, higher density development and provides a regional service to improve sustainability
• A strategic approach to the tram system – facilitating NET Tram extension – with or without HS2, and driving the narrative around public transport on the A52 corridor
• Beyond the tram, develop a tiered public transport offer – bespoke services to employment centres, demand responsive sub-regional services, local bus services, Uber etc. All to be developed with zero emissions vehicles.
• MaaS – Mobility as a Service subscriptions across the site, Ockbrook and Borrowash providing flexible access to all modes
• On-site trackways to be designed to be safe for walking, cycling and all personal transport modes – motorised or not
• “Typical User Audits” – an on-going “living” document to test the transport solution for as wide a range of demographic groups, family situations, mobility impairments and so on as possible. This is the next generation of “Green Travel Plan”
Technical evidence would comprise strategy papers, with worked examples, outline business cases, baseline assessments and trip forecasts and deliverability evidence of how this would be delivered – especially considering phasing over time.
