through that r/bout you’ll have the old city walls on your right. Then at the next r/bout – a very
        large, grassy r/bout – take the 3rd exit on to Cleveland Rd.


        Expert navigator checkpoint:  As you approach that r/bout, Norwich Cathedral is right in front of
        you. After leaving the r/bout you will have the church of St Giles In The Fields on your l.

        The next stage of the journey will take you to Cromer, 23 miles away on the north Norfolk coast, a
        run of about 40 minutes.


        Direct route to Kings Lynn

        If you want to give the north coast road a miss you can go direct to Kings Lynn by taking the A47.
        Distance about 43 miles, time around 1hr 15min.


        Just follow any sign that says “Swaffham (A47)”.  It’s very easy to follow.

        Otherwise to take the scenic route along the north Norfolk coast . . .

        0.0 mi 52.6353, 1.2924 Make your way to the A147, the Ring Rd. At the r/bout at the i/s of Pitt St
        and St Crispin Rd, on the northern side of the city centre, take the exit s/p “Cromer”


        Expert navigator checkpoint:  Immediately after making that turn look for Norwich Framing and
        Mirror Centre in a blue building on the left.


        22.3 mi 52.9316,  1.278 Follow the A140 and A149 into Cromer. In the town you will come to a No
        Entry sign.  Turn l. to remain on the A149. Follow signs to “Kings Lynn / Holt”.


        If you are into militaria you might like to divert to the Muckleburgh Military Collection, the largest
        private collection of weaponry in the country. You can even get to drive a tank. Off to the right, just
        after passing through Weybourne.

        12.9 mi 52.9535, 1.0144 Continue on the A149 into Blakeney.

        In Wells-Next-The-Sea just follow the line of least resistance through the town.


        If you are a real ale fan you might like to visit The Real Ale Shop, on the B1105 just south of the
        village.

        9.4 mi 52.9601, 0.8149   Leave Blakeney on the A149 and in the village of Holkam, if you want to
        visit Holkham Hall, turn l. s/p “Holkham Hall”.

        22.7 mi 52.8353, 0.4972 Follow the A149, the coastal route, through Hunstanton to
        Sandringham.  You’ll skirt around to the west of the village of Dersingham (The Feathers in
        Dersingham is a fine old watering hole) and come to a r/bout.  Take the 2nd exit to remain on the
        A149, s/p “Sandringham”

        1.0 mi 52.8238, 0.4835 Turn l. and follow this road to Sandringham Estate about 0.3 miles away.

         If you want to give Sandringham Estate a miss, just continue on towards Kings Lynn instead of
        turning left.
