Directions: After passing the railway station cross the bridge over the River Ouse.
Take the next left after crossing the bridge, on to St Leonards Place (the local information Centre
will be on your right at the intersection).
Then left at the traffic lights on to Bootham (look for Betfred on the right and the old city walls on
your left).
Take the next r. into Bootham Row – the Bootham Tavern is on your right as you make that turn.
Bootham Row carpark is a short way along on the right. GPS 53.9637, -1.0857.
Side trip to Burghley House

0.3 mi Turn l. on to London Rd, the B1081
0.9 mi 52.6450, -0.4760 Turn r. into the gates of Burghley House. On the left of the road there is
a sign “Welcome to Lincolnshire”.
To continue north, retrace your steps to the A1.
