                                                  Dot’s Hoe Cakes


                                                        Fried Cornbread


                                                   1 cup self‐rising flour


                                2 cups self‐rising corn meal (Recommend Martha White)

                                                           2 eggs

                                                  2 tablespoons of sugar


                                                     2 cups buttermilk

                                                       1/2 cup water

                                                   1/2 cup vegetable oil


                       1.  Mix all ingredients together very well.

                       2.  Heat oil or butter in skillet to somewhere around medium heat.

                       3.  Using a tablespoon drop about 2 tablespoons of batter on the hot skillet.

                       4.  Brown each side until crispy.

                       5.  Place on paper towel to drain if desired.
