                                 Nan’s Crusty Cream Cheese Pound Cake




                                                   1 cup butter softened

                                                          1/2 cup

                                                        shortening 3

                                                         cups sugar

                                         8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened


                                                  3 cups sifted cake flour

                                                           6 eggs

                                                1 tablespoon vanilla extract



                        1.  Cream butter and shortening.

                        2.  Gradually add sugar beating well at medium speed.


                        3.  Add cream cheese beating until light and fluffy.

                        4.  Alternately add flour and eggs beginning and ending with flour.

                        5.  Stir in vanilla.

                        6.  Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.


                        7.  Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

                        8.  Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and let cool on cake rack.
