HOLISTIC GRADUATES

This Thrust is part of the University’s agenda to produce quality alumni
to serve the global community. It relates to the University’s commitment
towards nurturing holistic graduates with relevant disciplinary knowledge
and skills, ethics and morality, with an entrepreneurial mindset. This is
particularly crucial for graduate employability. This Thrust focuses on
three dimensions, namely, graduate employability, entrepreneurship and
alumni engagement. The graduate employability dimension focuses on
the University’s efforts to groom its students to be graduates of choice, in
whom both hard and soft skills are instilled. Consistent with the national
agenda of producing graduates with an entrepreneurial mindset, the
entrepreneurship dimension includes all necessary elements to equip
students accordingly. As for the alumni engagement dimension, UUM
places great emphasis on alumni ‘giving back’ to the University in various
ways, both in monetary and non-monetary terms. In order to materialise
this Holistic Graduates Thrust, three main strategies are involved: (1) to
nurture students as employers’ first choice; (2) to nurture an entrepreneurial
mindset; and (3) to build an impactful University-alumni relationship. To
measure the achievement of the Holistic Graduates Thrust, three KPIs
and 34 PIs are utilised.
