League Cup
Plymouth Argyle are through to the quarter finals
after they inflicted a first defeat of the season on
Cardiff City Ladies, beating them 2-1 in front of
an attendance of 1,518 at Home Park. After a
goalless first half, Emily Poole put Cardiff ahead
within ten minutes of the restart but Argyle hit back
strongly to level through a Zoe Cunningham
penalty and Lily Greenslade netted what proved to
be a winner.
League Plate
Southampton Women booked their place in the
last eight with a 5-2 victory over Swindon Town.
Brittany Jeal netted twice for Southampton along
with Lauren Cheshire, Emma-Jane May and Katie
Kingshott, whilst Swindon's replies came from
Annabelle Colston and Megan Attenborough. Ipswich Town celebrate scoring in their 2-0 victory
Northern Premier Division against Cheltenham Town.
The one match which took place in the division on
the weekend produced a notable scoreline, with leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers
going down to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Fylde Women. Hannah Forster and Faye
McCoy scored the goals to give the Coasters their best result of the season to date, and lifts
them into the top half of the table.
Southern Premier Division
Oxford Utd have gone eight points clear at the top of the table following their 3-0 victory
away to Bridgwater Utd. All of the goals came in the first half, Jaime Gotch putting the
U's in front before they went on to add further goals through Lacy-Jai Liggett and Leah
Burridge.
Billericay Town meanwhile continue to impress and they have joined the teams
chasing after leaders Oxford, courtesy of a 5-0 success at Crawley Wasps. Ruby Sealey
was on target twice, with the other goals coming from Lucy Jones, Beau Parker and Holly
Turner.
Division One North
Leaders Durham Cestria hit the ground running after the break and still head the table
by a single point after beating Merseyrail Ladies 4-1. Erin Nicholson, Jordan Atkinson,
Poppy Pritchard and Ella Wilson all scored a goal apiece for the Wildcats, with Erin Slade
replying.
Newcastle Utd remain close at hand in second place following their 3-2 success
away to Stockport County. Bianca Owens gave them a first half lead with her first goal
for the club and they went on to seal an important win with strikes after the break from
Katie Barker and Beth Guy, despite Maria Figueiredo netting a brace for County.
Hull City leapfrogged Norton & Stockton Ancients in the table and are in a
mid-table position after winning their meeting 4-0. Helen Lynskey and Rachael Ackroyd
put Hull two goals ahead at half time and after the break, they went on to make the points
safe as Hope Knight and Katie Thompson also got on the scoresheet.
