East Midlands League
Grimsby Town have had a tremendous season and they finish on top of Division One North by
a margin of nine points after they rounded off their league campaign with a 2-0 victory away to
Lincoln Utd Development. The first half was goalless but Beth Wharton gave Grimsby the
lead five minutes after the restart, and Alisha Dejonge sealed a twelfth win in fifteen matches for
her side with the second goal, fifteen minutes from time.
Eastern Region League
Luton Town are through to the League Cup Final, where they will play Stevenage Women,
after they defeated league leaders AFC Sudbury 2-0 in their semi final. Tsaianne Leander and
Shanice Lewis scored the goals to take Luton in the Final once again.
Whilst AFC Sudbury were in Cup action, Stevenage took the opportunity to narrow the gap
on them to five points as they won 2-1 away to Wroxham. The home side had taken the lead
through Holly Walker but late goals from Jodie Bellinger and Mathilda Fidler turned the match
around in Stevenage's favour. Needham Market remain a further point adrift in third after a
second half goal from Molly Hall gave them a 1-0 win away to Colney Heath. Bedford Ladies
meanwhile gave their chances of climbing off the bottom a big boost when they won 2-1 at King's
Lynn Town, Aliya Bhatti and Lauren Coppin scoring their goals with Tilly Sands replying.
AFC Dunstable are a single point away from the Division One North title following their
2-0 victory over Wootton Blue Cross, Mollie Knox and Gemma Whitchurch scoring their
goals. St Ives Town are the only remaining team which can still match Dunstable's points total
after they defeated Yaxley Phoenix 6-1, Annie Posnett leading the scoring with a four-goal haul
and Donna Nicholls adding the other two. Sophie Lubbock hit a hat-trick for Fakenham Town
in their 6-2 win against Newmarket Town, Shelley Woods (2) and Chloe Gravett adding the
others whilst Newmarket replied through Abbie Corbyn and Katie Hayes.
One match was played in Division One South, East Bergholt Utd will finish in a mid-table
position following their 2-o success against AFC Sudbury Res. The visitors had gone into the
game on the back of two straight wins but goals from Jade Horne and Millie Wilding earned East
Bergholt the points.
London & South East League
Worthing FC Women picked up the first trophy of a potential 'double' when they defeated
Dartford 3-1 in the League Cup Final. Ellie Russell, Georgia Tibble and Emily Linscer scored
the goals to give Worthing their success, whilst the Darts' consolation came from Emily Vaughan.
Whilst Worthing were on League Cup Final duty, Ebbsfleet Utd took the opportunity to
increase their lead over them at the top of the Premier Division with a 3-0 win away to Enfield
Town. Amelia Woodgate netted twice and Danielle Carlton added the other as Fleet completed
a quickfire double over their opponents. Ede Buchele and Georgia Heasman scored the goals as
Fulham FC Women won 2-0 at New London Lionesses to go third, just ahead of Dulwich
Hamlet who defeated Saltdean Utd 3-0 thanks to a Brittany Saylor double and an own goal.
Lindsay Virgillo and Darcy Wells were on target for Sutton Utd as they shared a 2-2 draw with
Aylesford, who netted through a brace from Chloe Francis.
In Division One North, leaders Brentford stepped up the pace with a 4-0 victory against
Dulwich Hamlet Res. Chloe Logie continued her great scoring form by hitting a hat-trick and
Eleonora Cottrell added the other goal as Brentford went three points ahead of Denham Utd,
whose season finished with a 3-1 defeat to Sport London e Benfica whose scorers were Renata
Ferreira (2) and Evellyn Torres Diniz. Dorking Wanderers meanwhile gave their title push a
kick by winning 4-0 at Richmond Park, Gemma Shepherd bagging a brace along with Cherelle
Khassel and Sarah Sparrow. Tanya Dady and Alicia Christie scored for Leatherhead as they
shared a 2-2 draw with Whyteleafe, whose markswomen were Olianna Bishop and Abigail
Woollvin. Hackney and Watford Development meanwhile exchanged victories in a double
header; Hackney, bottom of the table not so long ago, winning 3-0 thanks to Amy Nicholson (2)
and Fae Fulconis, then Aliyah Anderson netted the only goal in the other game for Watford.
