Ashford Utd did not play in Division One South but their position was strengthened after
title rivals Hastings Utd were beaten 3-2 by third placed Welling Utd. Grace Laverick, Olivia
McGregor and Amy Panayi all scored for Welling, whilst Hastings responed with a brace from
Sian Heather. Charlotte Lee was on target four times along with Beth Hull (2), Eloise Bovill and
Charlotte Bennett as Bromley FC Women scored eight without reply past Maidstone Utd
but despite goals from Erin MacLennan and Isobel Lewis-Taggart, Herne Bay were beaten 3-2
by Montpelier Villa whose scorers were Lou Tindall (2) and Borghild Nerheim. Chloe Evans,
Lauren Smith and Jamie Quinn accounted for the goals as Newhaven won 3-2 against
Eastbourne Utd, who replied through Grace Hill and Laura Stew.
North East League
Alnwick Town will finish as runners-up in the Premier Division following their 3-0 victory
against South Shields. The winners of the match were likely to take second place and it was
Alnwick who took the points with goals from Emily Henderson, Jenny Patterson and Chloe
Young. Nicole Havery, Isla Maggs, Rachel Mellor, Brogan Prudhoe and Vikki Ryder all scored a
goal apiece as Champions Chester-le-Street Town won 5-3 away to Redcar Town, whose
replies came from Jessica Round (2) and Mary Corbyn.
Wallsend BC Res have gone back to the top of the Northern Division, thanks to a 7-2 win
away to Bishop Auckland. Rachel Hepple led the scoring with a hat-trick and the others came
from Rose Rikkerink, Samantha Deverdics, Abbie Bolam and Sadie Bridges, whilst the home
side's consolation goals were both scored by Olivia Smith. Norton & Stockton Ancients Res
meanwhile netted nine times without reply against Thornaby Ladies, Jade Featherstone and
Maddie Myers both hitting hat-tricks with Caitlin Jones, Isobel McEwen and Katie Ormerod
adding the others.
Southern Division title winners Barnsley FC Ladies continued on their merry way,
beating Ossett Utd 5-2. Lynn Goodman and Nicole Shaw each netted twice along with Jodie
Gregory, Danielle Sidebottom and Rowan Treagus replying. Altofts Ladies are in the driving
seat for second place, Emily Scott netting twice along with Laura Walker and Grace Wilkinson as
they won 4-2 against Millmoor Juniors Ladies, whose replies came from Alesha Gale and
Abby Watkinson. Handsworth returned to action with a 4-2 success at York RI, courtesy of a
Tia Stancill brace, Katie Jepson and Danielle Pinder. Shannon Coughlan and Tia Needham
scored the goals for Sheffield Utd Community Foundation in their 2-2 draw with
Bradford Park Avenue, who netted through Jade Nelson and Lucy Preston, whilst goals from
Sophie Thompson, Georgia Walker-Ellis, Katherine Cunliffe and Grace Sanderson took
Harworth Colliery to a 4-0 victory over Ripon City.
North West League
Cheadle Town Stingers moved up into third place in the table, thanks to a 2-0 victory against
Darwen FC Women. Fleetwood Town Wrens meanwhile secured themselves a top five
finish by beating Mossley Hill 4-0, Emily Jones netting twice along with Frankie Sarsfield and
Sophie Slater. Crewe Alexandra also made sure of finshing off on a winning note, beating
West Didsbury & Chorlton in front of a crowd of 1,020 at the Alexandra Stadium.
After clinching the Division One North title with a 1-0 victory over Preston North End in
midweek, Blackpool rounded off their successful season by beating Penwortham Town 4-3
in their final match. Six goals were shared in the first half but doubles from Chloe Howarth and
Molly Kelly earned Blackpool the points. Preston are all but guaranteed a second place finish
following their 3-0 success away to Carlisle Utd. Morecambe edged out Penrith AFC 3-2,
despite replies from Stacey Harkness-Grant and Kim McCormick, and Workington Reds
continued their good finish to the season with a 2-0 win against Bolton Wanderers, given to
them by Helen Wagstaff and Hannah Green.
The final matches of the season were played in Division One South, including an entertaining
3-3 draw fought out between BRNESC Ladies and Warrington Wolves Foundation.
Hindley Juniors Women meanwhile came from behind to win 3-2 away to Chester FC
Women, who had earlier gone two goals ahead through Katie Priest and Molly Wood.
