The Women's Scottish Cup Fourth Round Draw took place in Edinburgh on Tuesday
evening, with the 20 SWPL and SWPL2 teams joining the 12 sides who emerged victorious
from Round Three ties this weekend.
Scotland Rugby international Chloe Rollie and broadcast journalist Connie
McLaughlin joined host Luke Shanley to make the draw, which took place at the home of
Boroughmuir Thistle, one of the teams who entered in the Fourth Round. Boroughmuir
were drawn against Edinburgh Caledonia, with the match set to take place at Meadowbank
Sports Complex - which is the current home of both sides this season.
Celtic were victorious in the Scottish Cup last season and they will be hoping to win the
trophy again in this season's revamped competition. They begin their defence with an away
match against Falkirk. Glasgow City - who currently top the SWPL - begin their campaign
against Hamilton Academical, while second-placed side Rangers will host Stirling
University. Hibernian host Spartans in an all-SWPL clash, with Aberdeen playing
Hutchison Vale and Heart of Midlothian travelling to face Dundee United.
The ties are set to be played on Sunday, 8 January, 2023.
Scotland Rugby international Chloe Rollie, who played for Hearts in her late teens
before deciding to pursue a rugby professional career, reflected on carrying out the draw.
She said: "It was a good experience, I really enjoyed it. I actually grew up always
playing football and rugby so depending on what day it fell, I'd go and play rugby or I would
       go and play football.
"I got picked up for Hearts when I was 17 and I was there for two seasons but it was
getting to the point where my heart was torn between rugby and football. Being from the
Borders, rugby was the winner and I thought I could probably get a bit further in rugby.
"From playing with Hearts ten years ago to where it is now, it's pushing right on and I
like to see the progress it's making, even with teams going professional this year.
"I know Erin Cuthbert from when I was with Harlequins, living in the same area, and
I know a few players from when we were in academies when we were younger like Kirsty
Howat and Nicola Docherty and some of the Glasgow City girls, so I like to keep up with
their results and support another sport, besides rugby."
Broadcast Journalist Connie McLaughlin added: "There's something so special about
this competition and something so magical about the Scottish Cup.
"I know we talk about the romance of the Scottish Cup and it's the biggest cliche under
the sun, but they are cliches for a reason because no matter what form you are in in the
league, this is your opportunity to plot your own history and do something really special.
"At the end there's the carrot that's dangling in front of all these players - the
opportunity to go out and play at Hampden Park with your team and potentially get your
       hands on this trophy."
