Marine Academy Plymouth have gone top of the Western Division for the first time
this season after scoring seven times without reply away to Activate in the only game to go
ahead. Jodie Billington netted a brace and she was joined on the scoresheet by Megan Boulton,
Sam Drewery, Emily Jackson, Ellen Thomas and Devon Simmonds.
Southern Region League
Abingdon Utd have opened up a lead of four points at the top of the league after they won
3-0 against previously unbeaten Bournemouth Sports. Wycombe Wanderers
meanwhile claimed three valuable points when winning 4-3 at Oxford City, Katie Riddington
hitting a hat-trick and Esmee Sword adding the other.
The only match to be played in Division One North was between the two teams at the
foot of the table and it was Eversley & California who came from behind to win 2-1 at
Carterton. Zoe Pugh gave Carterton a first half lead as they looked for their first win, but
strikes after the break from Rebekah Pantony and Gemma Lunn gave the visitors three
important points.
Rushmoor Community have climbed above Woking Ladies in the Division One
South table after winning their meeting 1-0, Becca Duncan scoring the only goal of the game
on the stroke of half time.
In the League Cup, Abingdon Town were given a scare as they needed penalties to get
past Abbey Rangers, after the teams had shared a 1-1 draw. Tori St Clair scored for Town
during open play, with Lauren Timbrell replying. Ascot Utd defeated Woodley Utd 4-0 with
goals from Nicole Brown (2), Tiffany Skinner and Isabel Woods, whilst Sarah Bradshaw netted
the only goal for Eastleigh in their 1-0 victory away to Penn & Tyler's Green. Winchester
City Flyers meanwhile defeated Kidlington 2-0 with goals from Charlotte Warhurst and Lia
Francis (see match report). Milton Utd meanwhile battled out a 4-4 draw with Chichester
City, before winning 9-8 in the resulting penalty shootout. Mollie Fyer scored twice for Milton
along with Georgia Winger and April England.
West Midlands League
Kidderminster Harriers are the new leaders of the Premier Division after Dani Selmes
scored the only goal of the game in their 1-0 victory over Lye Town. Cerys Dolloway and Olivia
Mitcham were on target for Worcester City, who are now in second place, as they drew 2-2
with Shrewsbury Town, who netted through Madison Jones and Sarah Lowden, whilst
Sutton Coldfield Town also drew, 1-1 against Burton Albion, goals coming from Jordan
Atkin and Amber-Leigh Denny respectively. Lauren Smith hit a hat-trick and Dionne Williams
the other as Solihull Sporting defeated Redditch Utd 4-0 and Crusaders were 3-2
winners over Coundon Court thanks to Chelsea Hunter, Danielle Keegan and Rebecca Sloan.
One match was played in Division One North, Coventry City lifting themselves up into
fourth place as Sophie Reynolds and Harriet Collins gave them a 2-0 victory over Lichfield
City Res.
In Division One South, Leamington Lions are up to fourth following their 3-2 victory
over Rugby Borough. Ella Astheimer, Kitty Jones and Annabelle Williams all scored for
Leamington, with Emily Davies and Danielle Statham. Aimee Ward (2), Isabelle Gibbons and
Sydney Harris accounted for the goals as Droitwich Spa won 4-2 against Rugby Town, for
whom Chloe Debaes netted twice.
Division One North leaders Shifnal Town took their good form into the Division One
Cup when beating Bewdley Town 6-0. Rebecca-Lee Bown led the scoring with a hat-trick
and there was one apiece from Maria Bell, Jenna Boddison and Leila Hopkins. Saanya Najib
was on target as Walsall Ladies won 1-0 away to City of Stoke whilst Darlaston Town
got past Sedgley & Gornal Utd on a penalty shootout, after the teams had shared a 1-1 draw.
Coventry Sphinx meanwhile returned to action by scoring eight times without reply against
Westfields Women, Anaya O'Brien and Kirsty Farnsworth both scoring hat-tricks and
Danielle Jackson adding the other two.
