WSS: Fylde have done increasingly well in recent years and seem to improve further
from season to season. Have you felt that is a great chance for you to challenge for
the title, right from the start?
HF: The squad Kim and Danielle have put together over the past 12-18 months is a really exciting
one, we have an amazing bunch of talented players who love the game and want to win every
game they play in. As a team we have sat down and spoken about our expectations and goals for
the season, but as I said previously we really are taking each week as it comes, focusing on us and
not getting ahead of ourselves, a lot of the girls we have here have played at this level before and
know how competitive the league is and what it takes to challenge for the title.
WSS: Wolves, Derby and Forest have been up there amongst yourselves in the early
stages, can you see these three being your main rivals or could someone else come
into the frame?
HF: Again it’s still early days, there is a lot of football to be played. Having been at this level for a
number of years I know how competitive it is and I feel the league this year is wide open and I
think anyone can beat anyone on their day, so I think we would be naïve to focus only on those
teams. There are a lot of talented players and well organised teams in this league and we are
aware that we need to be on it every week to get positive results.
