Evans and Weir return for double header
After missing the opening World Cup qualifying matches in September, Caroline Weir and
Lisa Evans have recovered from their injuries and been named in the Scotland squad ahead
of two matches against Hungary and Sweden.
Fresh from scoring at Hampden Park, against the Faroe Islands, Jenna Clark has
received the nod once again, along with Amy Muir who has been recalled into the squad.
In midfield, Chloe Arthur will be looking to add to her two goals at Hampden Park in
the last outing. Martha Thomas misses out for the two games through injury.
First up for Pedro Martinez Losa's side is Hungary, who Scotland defeated 2-0 last
month in Budapest, at Hampden Park on Friday 22nd October (7.35pm). Scotland will then
take on Olympic finalists and the second best team in the world, Sweden, in Paisley.
Scotland will play their second match of the qualification campaign at Hampden
Park, against Hungary as Pedro's side look to build on the 7-1 win over the Faroe Islands.
The match against Sweden will see Scotland make their return to Paisley, at a ground
that holds fond memories for the SWNT, due to COP26 activity at Hampden Park. The
SMiSA Stadium will therefore host on Tuesday 26th October, kick off 7.05pm.
Tickets for both matches are available through the Scottish FA website or, for the
Sweden game, they are also available by visiting www.stmirren.com/tickets.
