After a seven-goal blast in midweek to take them top of the table, Rangers went one better on
Sunday when they ran out 8-0 winners over Aberdeen. Kayla McCoy netted a first half brace
and went on to complete her hat-trick after the break, and she was joinde on the scoresheet by
Lizzie Arnot, who bagged a brace, Kirsten Reilly, Chelsea Cornet and Jane Ross.
Rangers have a two point lead over the two teams below them, headed by Glasgow City
who notched up a 2-0 victory away to Hearts. Aoife Colvill opened the scoring for City after ten
minues and Hayley Lauder added the second goal ahead of the interval.
Celtic kept themselves nicely in touch as they scored six times without reply at
Hamilton Academical. Six different players got on the scoresheet for the Hoops, Jacynta
Galabadaarachchi opening the scoring after four minutes and Kathleen McGovern made it two,
before Charlie Wellings and Cheyenne Shorts added further goals on the stroke of half time.
After the break, Caitlin Hayes and Olivia Chance rounded off the scoring for Celtic who are still
two points off the pace.
Partick Thistle are off the bottom and into mid-table with a fine 3-2 win against fourth
placed Hibernian. Siobhan Hunter put Hibs in front but after the break, Thistle hit back
strongly with three goals in a thirteen minute spell, Amy Bulloch equalising from the penalty
spot before Rebecca McGowan and Bulloch put them in control of the game. Colette Cavanagh
did pull a goal back for Hibs but Partick held on for one of their biggest ever victories.
The two teams immediately below Partick in the table are Spartans and Motherwell
who meeting finished in a goalless draw. For Spartans, the point and clean sheet were both
welcome after two big defeats and Motherwell were able to build on their first victory seven days
earlier.
With Glasgow Women not having a game, Dundee Utd took the chance to open up a
lead of three points at the top of SWPL 2 after they won 2-1 away to Boroughmuir Thistle.
Elvie McLean did give Boroughmuir the lead from the penalty spot, midway through the first
half, but Jade McLaren brought United back on level terms before the break and with twelve
