National League Cup
Fylde Women kept up their good start to the season
by winning 5-2 away to Sheffield FC, to secure their
place in the last 32 of the League Cup. Mel Bartley,
Jodie Mortimer, Jess Holbrook, Sasha Rowe and Hannah Forster all scored a goal apiece for
the Coasters, with Lauren Evison and Yasmin Mason replying.
Derby County are another team in good form and they progressed with a 5-0
victory over Barnsley. Emily Joyce and Megan Tinsley each netted twice for the Ewe Rams,
with Ellie Gilliatt adding the other goal.
The all-Northern Premier Division tie went the way of Brighouse Town who ran
out 5-2 winners against Stoke City. Amy Woodruff led the scoring for Brighouse with a
hat-trick and Leah Embley weighed in with a double, whilst Stoke's replies came from Callan
Barber and Beth Roberts.
Oxford Utd swept through with a 5-0 victory against Swindon Town. Sophie
Baker led the scoring for the U's by bagging a hat-trick, with Beth Lumsden adding the other
two goals.
Norton & Stockton Ancients meanwhile edged out Long Eaton Utd by the
odd goal in seven. Bianca Owens scored the winner for Norton deep into injury time, her
second goal on the day, to add to further strikes from Lily Patrick and Sacha Millward whilst
Long Eaton replied through Laura Dexter, Alexia Spokes and Cala Thornton.
AFC Bournemouth were the other team to reach the First Round, thanks to a 5-0
win against Kent Football Utd. Katie James netted a brace for the Cherries, whose other
markswomen were Becki Bath, Rebecca Barron and Alexis Bussell.
National League Plate
Stockport County continued their improving form by winning 3-0 away to FC United of
Manchester. Emily Bradshaw scored two first half goals and Jess Battle added a third after
the break, to repeat the scoreline when the teams met in the league two weeks earlier.
Leafield Athletic went through to the next round as a Daisy-Mai Clements
hat-trick took them to a 3-1 victory over Solihull Moors, whose reply came via a Lois
Jefferies penalty.
Sporting Khalsa built on their recent improving league form by beating
Peterborough Utd 5-2. Hannah Pendred hit a double for the Posh Ladies but Louisa
Anderson, Sarah Hazell, Rebecca Gill-Parsons, Chloe Handy and Molly Wright accounted for
the goals as Khalsa booked their place in the First Round.
Queen's Park Rangers made the trip to Maidenhead Utd and returned with a
6-1 victory under their belts. Melanie Hall netted a brace and she was joined on the
scoresheet by Joanna Blodgett, Laura Hennessey, Brogan Moore and an own goal, with
Kirsty Matthews responding.
AFC Wimbledon are also through to the First Round, courtesy of a 4-0 success
away to Norwich City. Megan Stow bagged a double for the Dons, with one apiece from
Ashlee Hincks and Katie Stanley.
Northern Premier Division
Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken a four point lead at the top of the Northern
Premier Division following their 3-2 victory against Hull City on Sunday. Helen Dermody,
Leonie Joyce and Lauren Riley scored the goals to strengthen their side's position as leaders
but a spirited Hull side pushed them close, with replies from Liberty Bott and Emily Smith.
