they had won but it was Dee Newman and Devon Simmonds who scored the goals to give the
Ashes the points, with Sasha Sparkes replying.
Southern Region League
Abingdon Utd are through to the quarter finals of the League Cup after they defeated
Division One leaders AFC Bournemouth Development 4-1. Beth Hawtin and Lindsay
Pinker each scored twice for United, with Lily Humes replying. Neighbours Abingdon
Town meanwhile went out, beaten 2-1 by Milton Utd from the division below thanks to
goals from Mollie Dyer and April England. Bournemouth Sports were another side to
take a Premier Division scalp, Rosie Eden giving them a 1-0 win over Woodley Utd. Tia
Johnson hit a hat-trick, with Sarah Leonard and Nicole Brown adding the others, as Ascot
Utd defeated Southampton Women Res 5-0 whilst Eastleigh won 3-1 at Abbey
Rangers, Gabrielle Ewing netting twice and Kau'Inohea Taylor added the other. New
Milton Town are the other team through to the last eight, Dominique Carrington bagging
a hat-trick as they beat Woking Ladies 6-1. Pearl Mortimer weighed in with a brace and
Caitlin Youles rounded off the scoring.
In the solitary Premier Division match to be played, Moneyfields returned to the top
of the table by scoring seven times without reply past Wycombe Wanderers. Aine
McKeever and Charley Wilson netted two apiece, with Kirsty Pearce, Emma Pinner and Ellie
Bloomfield also on target.
One match also took place in Division One, Chichester City defeating third placed
AFC Stoneham 2-0 with goals from Katie Bundy and Gabriella Hobday.
West Midlands League
Lichfield City head the Premier Division on goal difference following their 5-0 win away to
Crusaders on Sunday. Shelbie Cartwright and Natasha Lawrence each scored twice for
Lichfield along with Jodie Mason. Stourbridge also won 5-0 at City of Stoke to stay just
behind the top two, thanks to doubles by Courteney Murphy and Georgia Thacker with
Hannah Fishwick adding the other. The Glassgirls lie third, six points off the pace but with
games in hand, and ahead on goal difference from Lye Town who beat Coventry Sphinx
2-0 with a Sunya Salim brace. Senna Robinson (2) and Lauren D'oyen-Fitchett gave
Worcester City a 3-1 victory over Kidderminster Harriers, whose consolation came
from Sarah Lojko, whilst Coundon Court defeated Redditch Utd 2-1 thanks to Jessica
Sevellec and Catherine Smith.
The top two did not play in Division One North and third placed AFC Telford Utd
were beaten 8-0 by Walsall Wood, who are now a single point behind them in the table.
Natasha Baptiste and Tayler Davies each hit hat-tricks for Wood, with Grace Field and Beth
Male also on target. The other game in the division saw Sandwell Ladies come from
behind at half time to win 3-1 at Coventry City. Lauren Bailey-O'Toole gave Coventry a first
half lead but after the break, Sandwell came surging back with a Phoebe Hopwood double
and Marsha Malik.
Solihull Sporting enjoyed another high scoring day in Division One South, keeping
hold of the leadership on goal difference with a twelve-goal blast against Cookley Sports.
Angel Scandrett netted five times and Naomi Melbourne added a further four, with the tally
being completed by Evie Quinn, Leah Williams and Dionne Williams. Knowle meanwhile
kept pace with Solihull by winning 6-0 at Rugby Borough, Alice Belcher bagging a four-
goal haul and Demi-Lee Rolph the other two. Sedgley & Gornal Utd follow on after they
defeated Westfields Women 8-2, Arshi Zahoor netting four times along with Kathryn
Moore, Nicola Finlay, Olivia Lloyd and Abi Beady. Chloe Debaes also scored four, for Rugby
Town in their 7-1 victory over Droitwich Spa, Hannah Morris added a brace and Grace
Keenan was also on target.
