Lincoln Utd will finish as runners-up in the Premier Division, making sure of second place
with a 4-0 victory away to Rotherham Utd. Tracey Duxbury-Mead and Lauren Churcher
sealed the result they needed by scoring two goals apiece.
In Division One North, Gainsborough Trinity kept hold of second place when they
won 3-1 away to Grimsby Borough. Emily Murphy netted twice and Alice Hill the other
for Trinity, whilst the home side's consolation came from Natalie Aird. Lauren Alderson was
on target twice along with Jay-Leanne Fenton, Jade Baker, Kelsey Benton and Maisie Kirwan
as Sleaford Town ran out 6-2 winners over St Josephs Rockware of Worksop, who
replied through a brace from Beth Gingell.
Ilkeston Town have been confirmed as Champions of Division One Central without
kicking a ball after Dronfield Town's 2-1 victory away to Notts County Development.
After Phoebe Roe had given County a first half lead, Dronfield hit back after the break with
goals from Ruby Burns and Kristine Humble to take the points but it was not enough for
them to finish above Ilkeston on goal difference. In the other game, Asfordby Amateurs
moved level on points with third placed Nottingham Trent University after a double
from Sarah Brown eanred them a 2-1 win away to Sherwood FC Women, whose
consolation came from Bella Reed.
Eastern Region League
Stevenage Women kept themselves firmly in the running for a league and cup 'double'
after a 3-2 victory over Needham Market in the semi finals of the League Cup. Amy
Makewell, Becky Shephard and Rosy Wodhams all scored a goal apiece for Stevenage, who
will play either Luton Town or Colney Heath in the Final, whilst Lina Nagib replied with
both for Needham.
Whilst Stevenage were involved in cup action, league leaders AFC Sudbury took the
chance to extend their advantage over them to seven points by beating Royston Town 5-3.
Holly Kennard led the scoring with a four-goal haul and Jessica Allen was also on target, with
Charlotte South, Poppy Smith and Chloe Holt replying. Shakira Kafero Roberts (2), Victoria
Campbell and Ronnell Humes accounted for the goals as Haringey Borough defeated
Colney Heath 4-1. Tsianne Leander scored for Luton Town who were held to a 1-1 draw by
Wroxham, Hannah Waters replying, whilst Jodie Hopkins-Duckhouse and Tilly Sands
were the scorers for King's Lynn Town as they beat Bowers & Pitsea 2-1 to move away
from the bottom two.
Second met third in Division One North and it was Biggleswade Utd who narrowed
the gap on leaders AFC Dunstable to three points with a 4-1 victory over St Ives Town.
Kayleigh Gray, Katie Smith, Nicola Henman and Marilyn Munangatire were all on target for
Biggleswade, with Emily Ingle replying. Fakenham Town meanwhile moved themselves
away from the bottom of the table after goals from Sophie Lubbock (2) and Vicky Lubbock
gave them a 3-2 win against Wootton Blue Cross.
After having captured the Division One South title last week, Barking are showing no
signs of slowing down and are one game away from an unbeaten season after beating Grays
Athletic 6-1. Laura Bunton scored a hat-trick for the title winners, Ammarah Ali added two
and Chloe Jackson was also on target. Hutton have taken the runners-up spot ahead of
Billericay Town Development, they were 2-0 winners over Wodson Park with Lucy
Critchell scoring both goals. AFC Sudbury Res meanwhile netted seven times without
reply past Cheshunt, Lily Tilyard hitting a hat-trick with Keira Harms (2), Chloe Brame and
Caitlyn Charles contributing the others.
