Glasgow City made it six wins out of six and have stretched their lead at the top of the SBS
Scottish Women's Premier League to three points after their 3-1 success away to Spartans.
Leanne Ross and Zaneta Wyne ensured that City led by two goals going into half time and after
Rebecca Galbraith gave Spartans hope by pulling one back two minutes into the second half, and
own goal four minutes later sealed the points and maintained City's perfect start.
Rangers are now in second place after scoring nine times without reply past
Motherwell. Kirsty Howat opened the scoring after fifteen minutes, before Lizzie Arnot went on
to hit a first half hat-trick, with Megan Bell also getting on the scoresheet. Howat netted twice
more after the break to complete her own treble, with Rangers' other goals coming from a Daina
Bourma penalty and Bala Devi Ngangom.
Celtic meanwhile saw their run of four straight league wins brought to a halt as they
were held to a 2-2 draw by Forfar Farmington. However this did not tell the full story as Forfar
went into a two-goal lead during the second half, courtesy of London Pollard and Donna Paterson,
but they were denied victory in a dramatic finish when Celtic scored twice in injury time, strikes
from Chloe Craig and Natalie Ross salvaging a point.
Hearts picked up their first points in the top flight since winning promotion, and it was
local rivals Hibernian who were on the receiving end of the 1-0 scoreline. Paige McAllister scored
the only goal of the game deep into injury time, to put an end to Hearts' run of five straight defeats.
Aberdeen have taken an even firmer grip on the SWPL 2 title race, even at this early
stage, going seven points clear by winning 6-0 away to Stirling University. Bayley Hutchison
gave them the lead after three minutes and Chloe Gover doubled their advantage before Hutchison
netted her second on the stroke of half time. After the break, the prolific Hutchison went on to
round off a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Francesca Ogilvie and Johan Fraser.
Dundee Utd are now in second following their 4-0 victory over Kilmarnock. An own
goal put United in front midway through the first half and Robyn Smith made it two before the
hour. Danni McGinley then netted twice to crown a fine win for United who now head the chasing
       teams after leaders Aberdeen.
