S-Tech Cambridgeshire League
Netherton Utd kept their title hopes alive as they scored eight times without reply past
St Ives Town Development. Emily Johnson netted four of the goals and there was
one apiece from Yasmin Green, Jess Perrin, Megan Stickland and Gemma Holloway.
Netherton therefore trail league leaders Cambridge University by six points but still
have a game in hand. Ketton's chances look to be over though after being beaten 3-2 by
Cambridge City A despite scoring through Katie Altham and Fran Kavanagh. Shannon
Shaw (2) and Megan Stow were on target for City. Ella Gavaghan and Victoria Vata were
the markswomen for Leverington Sports as they won 2-0 away to March Town Utd.
Championship North leaders Cardea Ladies did not have a game on the
weekend but they remain three points clear after second placed Park Ladies went down
to a rather surprising 2-0 defeat at the hands of Swavesey Spartans. Lindsey Gassner
and Libby Ashdown scored the goals to give Swavesey their second league win of the
season. Eaton Socon meanwhile ran out 7-1 winners at Cambourne Utd, courtesy of
a Kendal O'Connor hat-trick, Mollie Childerley, Erin Kelly, Cerys Richards and Emily
Whiteman. Libby Friel netted twice and Freya Peters added the other as Pinchbeck
Utd won 3-1 against Brampton Ladies.
The top of the table clash in Championship South went the way of Cambridge
Rangers, who defeated Histon Res 2-1 and replaced them as leaders. Robyn Barlow
and Ruth Telfer scored the goals for Rangers, with Molly Blair replying. Newmarket
Town Development are now second following their 5-1 success at Mildenhall
Town. Kaitlin Elsey led the scoring for Newmarket with a four-goal haul and Hannah
Doyle was also on target. Olivia Dunne bagged a brace along with Demi Stanley and Katie
Young for Haverhill Rovers Community in their 4-0 victory against Burwell
Tigers.
Eastbound Electrical Cornwall League
Callington Town Res have virtually clinched the runners-up position in the East
Division following their 7-1 victory over Wadebridge Town. Siobhan Ellyatt hit a
hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Tamsin Elliott, Keisha Ellis, Rachel
Finch and Lauren Baker.
Helston AFC Women meanwhile celebrated lifting the West Division title
seven days earlier in style, beating Mousehole 11-1 in their final league match of the
season. Sasha Sparkes led the scoring with a five-goal haul, Kathryn Barker weighed in
with a hat-trick, and there was one apiece from Eve-Charlotte Moore, Charlotte Sparkes-
Bond and Georgina Sweet. St Agnes Res meanwhile notched up their first league win
of the season, 5-1 against RNAS Culdrose thanks to Zoe Arundell-Lethbridge (2),
Grace Bradley, Molly Curnow and Mollie Dring.
Derbyshire League
Draycott Victoria require one more point from their two remaining matches in order
to be confirmed as League Champions, taking themselves to the brink of the the title with
a 7-3 victory over mid-table SK Vipers. Only two teams can still catch Draycott’s
current points and neither did themselves any favours, Pride Park Ladies and
Mickleover Sports Club battling out a 2-2 draw. Mickleover therefore remain in
second place, four points ahead of Wirksworth Colts who were 4-2 winners away to
