Holders Chelsea emerged as 2-0 winners from the tie of the
round against Arsenal and they are through to the quarter finals
for the last season in a row.

Manchester City moved a step closer
towards a return to Wembley after a powerful
display of finishing took them to an 8-1 victory
away to Barclays Women’s Championship
leaders Bristol City.
Khadija Shaw continued her fine form in
front of goal with a hat-trick inside 40 minutes
before notching a fourth after the break, with a
Julie Blakstad double, Lauren Hemp and
Jemima Dahou also on the scoresheet.

Utd 5-0. Brianna Visalli’s seventeenth minute strike had been the only thing separating the
sides until the last fifteen minutes, when a second from Visalli, a double from Geum-Min Lee
and an own goal gave the Seagulls a more comfortable finish.
The last remaining FA Women’s National League side in the competition bowed out at
this stage, with Cardiff City Ladies going down 6-1 to Lewes, from two levels above. The
South Wales side have enjoyed a magnificent Cup run but they fell behind through Ellie
Mason after five minutes, and she netted a second just before the half hour mark. Ingrid
Adland pulled a goal back for Cardiff but Mason responded with her hat-trick goal just after
the hour and she went on to add a fourth, before Kenzie Weir and Aqsa Mushtaq added late
goals to put the seal on a result which takes the Rookettes into the quarter finals for the first
time in their history.
Birmingham City are the other Championship side who are through to the quarter
finals, following a hard fought 1-0 victory over Charlton Athletic after extra time. Ashley
Hodson popped up with the crucial strike after 101 minutes to send the Blues - conquerors
of Everton in the last round - into the last eight once again.
Reading FC Women and Tottenham Hotspur were not able to find a goal in 120
minutes though, meaning a penalty shootout and it was Reading who emerged as 5-4
winners from the spot. Northern Ireland international Lauren Wade slotted home the
winning penalty after the unfortunate Kerys Harrop had struck the bar for Spurs.
The other tie also went all the way to penalties after West Ham Utd and Aston Villa
