Leeds Utd will play Stourbridge in this season's
Final after both sides came through Sunday's semi
final with home victories.
Stourbridge played host to Crawley Wasps, from the tier above, but took their
excellent league form into the Cup with a 3-0 win. Millie Rogers and Amber Lawrence put
the Glassgirls two goals ahead at the break and they went on to crown the victory with a
third, scored by Niamh Deasy just before the hour mark.
Leeds meanwhile took on Southampton Women who had caused a surprise in the
quarter finals with victory over Billericay Town. Amy Woodruff opened the scoring for
Leeds on the half hour and the game remained in the balance until late on, when Woodruff
secured Leeds' place in the Final by scoring her second.
Northern Premier Division
Nottingham Forest stay five points ahead following their 3-0 victory against
Huddersfield Town on Sunday. Charlotte Steggles gave them the lead midway through
the first half and they went on to secure the points after the break, Charlotte Greengrass
keeping up her excellent run of form by netting another double.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have returned into second place after scoring six
times without reply away to Loughborough Lightning. Helen Dermody, Katie Johnson,
Destiney Toussaint and Jade Cross put Wolves four goals ahead at half time, before they
went on to add further goals late on through Amy Dicken and an Anna Morphet penalty.
Brighouse Town meanwhile made it six victories on the trot in the league by
running out 5-0 winners over Fylde Women. Drew Greene netted two of the goals and she
was joined on the scoresheet by Lucy Sowerby, Monique Watson and Dolcie O'Connor.
West Bromwich Albion maintained their climb away from danger by beating
Liverpool Feds 3-1. Hannah George, Lucy Newell and Shannon Stamps were all on target
for Albion, with the Feds' consolation coming from Ellie Fletcher.
Southern Premier Division
The top two teams did not play on Sunday, whilst the two teams immediately below them
met each other. A win would have taken Watford to within two points of the leadership but
instead it was Ipswich Town who were 1-0 victors, a second half goal from Sara Brasero-
Carriera taking them level on points with their opponents.
Milton Keynes Dons avenged a defeat by Gillingham two weeks earlier by
winning the return meeting 1-0. Mollie Coupar kept up her good form in front of goal by
scoring the winner and taking her side back above Gillingham in the table on goal
difference.
Plymouth Argyle are still on course for a repeat of last season's escape from the
relegation zone, and indeed are out of the bottom two following their 4-1 victory over
Cheltenham Town. Amber Pollock's early strike for Argyle was cancelled out by Laura
Holden but Lily Greenslade and a Shawna Hannam own goal put Plymouth in a strong
position at the break. Charlotte Whitmore scored with five minutes remaining to put the
seal on a third win in four matches for her side.
London Bees stay out of the bottom two after picking up a valuable point from a 1-1
draw with Billericay Town. Danielle Tan Li Ern was on target for the Bees, whilst
Billericay netted through Jess King.
